About the role
As an Associate Director at iNHouse you will provide strategic oversight for a portfolio of client accounts, providing senior political counsel and ensuring delivery of exceptional results. You will be an engine of new business, taking new briefs from conception to pitch and leading teams to devise client programmes and secure new contracts. You’ll also be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, helping the agency to continue its growth story and taking on corporate responsibilities to make sure the team are supported as we scale.
You will be an experienced client advisor and strong team leader. You will have a track record of engaging at a senior level within client organisations and can profitably lead a client portfolio (at least 4-6 client accounts/major projects) with a reputation for delivering high quality results, that truly impact business outcomes.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Leading a portfolio of client account teams, providing senior oversight and counsel and taking overall accountability for delivering results. Consistently seeking to exceed client expectations and provide added value.
- Leading integrated client teams to deliver impactful campaigns, that add tangible value to our clients’ business.
- Engaging a wide range of stakeholders from policy makers, influencers and media.
- Incorporating public affairs, media relations and appropriate use of social and digital into client strategies.
- Generating new business opportunities and preparing and leading successful new business pitches.
- Playing a critical role as part of the iNHouse Senior Leadership Team, embodying our high standards and collaborative culture and involving yourself in every part of the consultancy’s day to day activities: to drive success for our people, our clients and the consultancy as a whole.
- Coaching and developing your account teams, contributing to professional development across the agency and directly for line managees.
- To act as an ambassador for the agency, confidently representing iNHouse’s expertise and able to differentiate us from the competition. Actively cultivate and grow your political and press networks, and support colleagues to do the same.
- Keeping on top of trends and best practice in political campaigning, and bringing fresh perspectives into the team’s work
This is the job for you if:
- You have a passion for influencing and shaping policy, understand and have personal experience in campaigning approaches to create comprehensive engagement and influence for clients’ objectives.
- You can bring strong reputation management skills to your client work and understand the basics of crisis management.
- You recognise the importance of proactively building and maintaining your network and supporting iNHouse’s unique position as a convener of business and politics. You will be an active participant and personally supportive of the importance of iNHouse events.
- You have a track record of delivering winning new business pitches, and successfully growing profitable accounts.
- Based on depth of knowledge and being a strong and reliable advisor, you can build strong, lasting relationships and high levels of trust with our clients.
- You are committed to the professional development of your colleagues, and are willing and able to coach and support junior colleagues on their career journey.
- You are ambitious for your own and the agency’s future, and are keen to grow in your role, help build up the agency and play an active leadership role in the business.
We're particularly looking for:
- Solid agency experience, or experience within another client service environment.
- Excellent coaching / line management skills and the ability to motivate and support your junior team.
- Experience crafting and delivering successful new business pitches.
- Sector experience in Energy, FMCG, or Infrastructure a plus.
