Job Overview:
The Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse range of events for our clients. From roundtables to large-scale political conferences, you will lead the management of events from start to finish alongside our Head of Events. You will also manage the bookings of events in our iNHouse events space. The ideal candidate is a highly organised and enthusiastic individual with an active interest in politics. Experience in event management, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding events is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage event logistics for iNHouse run events. This includes pre/post-planning for virtual and in-person events and conferences, dinners, roundtables and parliamentary receptions.
- Generate creative ideas for event themes, formats and translate client briefs into engaging experiences.
- Lead all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, venue selection, supplier negotiations, logistics, and on-site management.
- Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers, stakeholders and business networks, and negotiate with external service providers to ensure value for money and service levels maintained.
- Create and monitor event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Oversee the planning of resourcing for events delivery and ensure events are appropriately staffed.
- Support the Head of Events with the marketing and sales of the iNHouse events space on Smith Square.
- Liaising with the House of Commons events team for our external parliamentary events.
- Create and manage stakeholder databases and guest lists.
- VIP liaison/key stakeholder management.
- Assist in coordinating event registrations, including managing RSVP lists and attendee communications.
- Provide on-site, live event support, ensuring the smooth running of our events with the Head of Events or other event lead.
Qualifications:
- At least three years of proven experience as an Events Manager or similar role, ideally within a political, communications, or corporate environment.
- Good knowledge of and interest in UK politics.
- Strong understanding of event logistics, budget management, and marketing.
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evenings or occasional weekends as needed for events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with exceptional analytical skills and a can-do attitude who can lead the team on big events but also muck in when needed.
